Yesterday I looked in my rearview mirror and I saw the sun setting in the background. I started thinking all kinds of thoughts. It was like there was an epiphany of my past year.  The sun was setting and I could clearly see the year going away and the new sun bringing a new day and a new year. Then I reflected on this year and realized how amazing this year has been!  Before I go into a new year, I have to give God all the glory and praise for all He has done this year! Turning 50, half a century and celebrated it with 19 of the most incredible people in my life in Jamaica, was amazing! Watching my Baby Girl land her dream job, amazing! Seeing Tyrell act as the leading role in an Independent film in Chicago, amazing!  Seeing RC get to where he’s trying to be in life, amazing.  To see Tyrell propose to the love of his life and welcoming Lanie into our family, amazing.  To see Christina get her own place in NY, amazing! To go from Honda Sale to Mercedes Sales, amazing!  To watch my Daddy turn 72, amazing! The closeness of my special cousins (too many to name.. Darrell, Shawn, Tori, Tiki, Cheeko, Gail..etc :)), amazing! The clarity of my mind, and the freedom of bonds that  God has delivered me through are making me who I am.  I always ask why God does some things, but at the end of the year when I look in that rearview mirror, He shows me the answers.

So while you all are getting ready to celebrate bringing in a New Year, take a look back on your good, bad, ugly.  Look back on the gifts you received, they gifts you gave, the new friends you have, the old friends that were removed.  Look back on the love ones that God called home, and look at the ones He healed, and they new babies HE delivered. Look at the job you lost, and the better job you gained.  Look at the relationship that you finally let go of, and look at the wonderful person God has brought into your life now.  Look at the time you spent with someone who didn’t care, and look at the time someone makes for you now.  Look at how your children have grown. Look at the hardship they went thru and how they overcame it and doing great now!  Look at your family and how it’s growing.  There is so much to look back at and say THANK YOU!! Once you thank God for all HE has given you, taken you through, and grew you…then just wait until what HE has in store for you in the New Year!!!  So look back, so you can GROW forward!
