I’m sitting here on the bike after all this cardio and listening to MC Hammer in my ears. And I look at my screen and it says “cool down”. Well I start laughing because I always see more than what the words actually say. I have so many life stories that I could relate this too, but I’ll just be general with info. When I see cool down, it’s something that we all should take heed to. People are so trifling and will do some things to make you lose your cool.  And once you lose your cool, it’s over!  The adrenaline is pumped, you’re pissed, and your thoughts have become mangled. And do you care what you do or say? Heck no!!! Lol!! So that’s when we all need to program a cool down period in our lives. I’ve gotten so much better than I used to be!! I still may snap on occasions, but when I snap things are normally ok. It’s the silence that means there is a problem!  So during this holiday season, when things don’t work out like you want them to, take a cool down break!! Cooling down slows the thought process. It gives you time to analyze a situation and foresee the outcome. Lots of friendships and possibly lives can be saved with a cool down period.  Life is too short to be unhappy and steesses over something you CAN control. Keep having Faith in God and He will give you all the joys of your heart!!

The Real Mommie Teresa  

Today is a day that it’s on my heart to remind everyone of what family is, because it seems as though society has forgotten.  I can remember when my Great Grandmother, who we called Ou’ Ma (maybe was supposed to be Our Ma, but we were country) used to have sleeping spells.  She would go to sleep and no one could wake her up.  When it happened, EVERYBODY showed up!! I mean all her children, grands, and great grands, cousins and neighbors.  We would all be right there for each other, and we would pray together, cook together and just be there for each other as a FAMILY!  When Ou Ma woke up, we were all there at her bedside, at her house and she saw each of us.  We all told her how much we loved her and we just supported each other.

What happened? Where is the family love now? Why is it that your friends have to be closer to you than your family? Did we, or are we losing our families to society? There are so many things that are turning us against our families now.  It’s ok to grow and expand, but remember God wrote the 10 commandments for a purpose. Honor thy Father and thy Mother; that thy days shall be long. Some people only WISH they had a Mother and Father.  I know sometimes family pisses you off, but if ANYTHING ever happens to you, guess whose going to be there..FAMILY!  Co-workers, so called friends, associates, will be there temporarily, but they will eventually have to take care of “their” families.  And who will you have? I know our families are the ones who sometimes get on our nerves more than anyone, but thats what family does! They worry the crap out of us because they are the ones who will be honest with us about life. They are the ones who will tell you what is on their mind, but still not lose any love for you. They are the biggest critics, but they are also the ones that will give you the biggest praise when you accomplish a goal. They talk about each other, but they will beg, borrow and steal to get you what you need.  We cry together, we fight together and we love each other.  Yes we get mad, but we can’t lose the love of family.

When family gets so caught up with organizations, and affiliations that they forget where they came from, who was there for them, and who got them to where they are today, don’t worry, God will bring you back home.  He’ll let you do your thing, but when you need someone to take care of you and be there for you, you’ll know the meaning of FAMILY! You’ll understand that your family will be with you until you take your last breath. And when God calls you home, guess who’ll be there beside God, with arms open waiting for you…FAMILY!!

So today this is for “my” family, “your” family and every family that has forgotten the real meaning of what a family is.  This a reminder to my family today, remember who we are, where we came from. We have a  strong family bond, and we love each other so very much.  Although we can be crazy, wacky, off the chain, sinners, holy, rebels, smokers, drinkers, preachers and teachers.  We are family!! No one should come before that.  I love you all more than life and it saddens me when we aren’t as close as we used to be. Think of Ou Ma and Pye. Think of what they built, and we need to build up on that.  Don’t let society tear us apart.

Everyone take notes and keep the family alive.  It’s all we have!
