Thunderstorms

11 Saturday Jan 2014

Every morning I awake , first I thank God for allowing me to see another day, then I check the weather for today. So this morning I see thunderstorms!! So as I lay in bed and listen to the thunder, and see the flashes of lightening come thru my window, I reflect on my storms. When I look back at the storms I came through, all I can say is Wow!! There were times when I felt like I was in the rain all alone and there was no umbrella or any protection, but eventually the sun came out and shined on me!

Just think, without the rain, nothing will grow. Without water, we can’t survive. The water is a cleanser. It washes out the dirty and makes everything fresh and clean. So as this new year begins, and you have commitments to yourself… The storm will be over after while!!! This is the time God is just cleansing everything to prepare you for you journey! He’s cleaning everything up so you can make a clean, fresh start. So reflect during this storm. And after it’s over, basque in the sun, feel the rainbow, and see the light of the world.

Get up and go to the gym! Start eating right! Get your finances in order!!! Get rid of what’s holding you back!! Now is your time! The Sun will shine on you real soon!

Money, “The Root of Evil”..

This topic comes from a conversation I had with someone very close to me.  People think when you have money, it can make you happy, it can solve problems, and you don’t need anyone “if” you have money.  Do you remember these quotes?  “Money is the root of all evil”; “more money, more problems”?  Those are true statements.  Someone is probably thinking.. “Well that ain’t me!  Give me money!!”

My thoughts go back to a time I was living in Eatonton.  Renting a house for a little of nothing, and having a house full of friends.  We didn’t have a lot of money, but we had enough for everyone to pitch in, buy a bottle of Crown Royal, fill up the gas tank, and ride all day!  Now those were the best times ever!  I then think about the time I had money, had a party, invited everyone who normally didn’t bring anything.  I did all the work, all the entertainment, and all the cleaning, while they were all gone.  Then think about the times you go out and spend hundreds of dollars hanging out with people who really don’t care about you, only that you are buying!  Where was the love?   Even when you have money and visit your hometown, you have to buy everything, do everything, pay everyone’s bills, and then leave empty handed.  Where’s the love?

The times you know people love you, is the times you have nothing!  More money, more problems.  What does that mean?  It doesn’t mean problems for you, it means you are now in charge of everyone else’s problems.  If you have money, everyone with a problem, looks to you as their saving grace.  You are supposed to be the one to bail everyone out of their situations that they put themselves in.  Only because you have money.  If you didn’t have money, then you’d be able to listen and to talk them thru their situation and give them advice.

Look at all those lottery winners who now have nothing! Why, because they probably were the saving grace for so many other people.  How many people do you think are lonely because they have money?  Probably over 80% of them?  Why? Because now, it’s not about love, and friendship, it’s about money.  If you think you have sincere friends, and you have money.. tell them you’re broke and see if they are still around!

Family is all we have these days.  When you are from a close family, do all you can to stay close.  Don’t  let the evilness of greed and money tear you apart! When I can sit and spend time with my family, my cousins, it means more to me than any amount of money I can have.  I know how to be broke, and I know how to have money, I’ve been thru both of them.  And its ashamed to say, that the times I didn’t have anything, were the best times of my life.

So people, don’t get caught up trying to be like the Jones.. They probably ain’t happy!  Don’t try to impress someone with something that you can’t afford.   Live within your means, and you will go a long way.  If you can’t afford designer, why keep making the designers “richer” and you “poorer”.   When I say, live, love and laugh, that’s what I mean.  Those are the days that you will always remember.

New Year Thoughts, Wishes, and Prayers..

01 Wednesday Jan 2014

Today is the first day of a brand new year!! Wow, 2014!! What does this year hold? First of all, think of the people who didn’t make it to see this year, and thank God you made it to see this day!! I always say be thankful for each and everyday and live it to the fullest! Last night when the clock struck midnight, I thanked God for my life, and for the lives of my family and friends. I then thanked Him for everything He has done for me in the past 49.5 years!! That was shouting news right there!!

Everyone think back to the worst year of your life and think how things eventually worked themselves out. Think about when you thought there was no way out, but you made it!! Now look at you today!! And guess what? God is not finished with you yet! It’s amazing at what we go through to get to where God needs us to be. He’ll lift you up, put you down, and turn you around to get you to where you need to be. But everything He puts you through prepares you for what He has in store for you. God has planned your life, and we just have to accept the plan. It may not go in any order we want it, but it is in Devine order.

On Monday, I had a long time friend heavy on my mind. I thought to myself, I gotta call Dee. But when I got home, I was so tired I didn’t call. I woke up Tuesday and he was still on my mind, so I text him just to thank him for being such a special friend in my life for so many years, and to wish him a Happy New Year. Dee text me back and told me he had fallen off a 10 ft ladder on Monday and broke his back! He was not paralyzed but just in a lot of pain. That’s just a sign of when the Holy Spirit reaches out to you to contact someone, do it!! Things can always be worse. I just thank God that he caught that fall and saved my friend!! We never question why it happened, we just thank God for the outcome!! And everyone please keep Dee in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Take time to cherish the people who mean something to you this year. All those people that use you as a sponge, let them go. If they bring drama, keep it out of your life!! That will make you so much happier for the new year.

Well my subject was sporadic today, but just thankful!! That’s what I am. Thankful, blessed and ready to celebrate this year with all the life God has given me!!

Happy New Year!!!
Hugs & Love
